Position Summary:

To support production operations mechanical failures, down time, and safety. To respond in a timely manner, lead TPM program processes. Escalate operations mechanical failures to maintenance staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment -- Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles. Perform regular TPM.
• First response to machine breakdown-escalate as needed.
• Respond to Safety Board-AIMHI Cards
• Basic welding and oxy/acetylene skills
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Sense of urgency in decision making/support requirements
• Ability to troubleshoot multiple machines.
• Making Decisions and Solving Problems -- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
• Controlling Machines and Processes -- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates -- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
• TPM Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings -- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
• TPM Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material -- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge -- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
• Estimating the Quantifiable Characteristics of Products, Events, or Information -- Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
• Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work -- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic fabrication skills
• Basic mechanical skills
• Ability to read a measuring tape
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Minimum Education:

• High School/GED
• Certified Forklift Driver, plus
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work well with others, in all environments.
