Position Summary:

The HR Manager LDP is designed for recent graduates of an advanced degree (MBA, Master’s of Human Resources) that are team players, looking to jumpstart their careers by getting HR Management responsibility and experience at a manufacturing company. In this role, the HR Manager LDP will gain a corporate perspective through working with the senior executives and HR leaders on company-wide projects and assignments while applying her/his knowledge working with local management as the HR Manager of the saw mill.
This position is based at Woodgrain’s corporate headquarters in Fruitland, ID, reporting directly to the VP of HR.

Primary Responsibilities:

The HR Manager LDP oversees and manages all HR responsibilities for our saw mill located in Emmett, ID. The HR Manager works directly with the management team of the saw mill and plays an integral role in implementing strategy, driving change, and achieving business results. The HR Manager works to position Woodgrain as the employer of choice through leadership training and partnering with management to create a positive company culture based on our values of: Integrity, Safety, Servant Leadership, Respect for People, and Customer Focus.
Working directly with the VPHR, the HR Manager LDP works to formulate, communicate and to implement objectives with company-wide implications. Experiences could include leading or assisting with cross-departmental projects, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), designing training programs, conducting policy review/updates, leading internal HR audits, compensation reviews, workforce planning, recruiting and hiring, safety programs, and benefit administration. The HR Manager LDP gains exposure on both the corporate side and on the operations side of the business through in-depth responsibility and accountability in both realms.

The HR Manager LDP is expected to participate in leadership training administered by the VP of HR. Training includes regular training/mentoring discussions, planning meetings, reading assignments, exposure to- and interactions with other top executives, projects and other assignments.

Skills & Qualifications:

  •  Human Resources certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or ability to gain and maintain certification.

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, MBA, or related field and 1-2 year’s HR experience preferred, ELSE
    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 3-4 year’s HR experience.
